  Alphabets Activity for Preschoolers

Children always learn through play.This activity takes children into a world of pretend where the teacher acts to be the best friend of her teddy bear(a comfort toy) and can't see her friend in a trouble. She stimulates their imagination and they start to imagine teddy bear as alive and his needs that can feel cold in winters and does have a need of quilt to take while sleeping . Young learners will play and learn through this dramatic activity .A comfort toy is a good tool that could be used to build a child's emotional and social feelings at early age.                   

ABC Quilt for my Teddy Bear


Aim:  to enable young learners to use their senses in an accurate way to find a solution of a problem / to motivate them to cultivate their imagination.                                           
 Demonstration:                                                                        Teacher will show her favorite stuffed toy Teddy Bear and will pretend as she and her toy are talking to each other, then makes him sit on a chair with a sad face and will discuss his problem with children that he doesn’t have a quilt to take in chill nights and has forgot alphabets  ,so how can we solve his problem ? How can we help him? Should we leave him alone?  Children will be motivated to think to solve his problem and, then the teacher will make a sudden smile on their faces by telling that  she will help her best friend and they all will make an abc quilt for him together.  They will make a drill of abc song with the teacher  while pasting alphabets on a piece of felt . After completing the task, they will give this quilt to the teddy bear and make him feel happy.                                                                                                   Resources:
  felt, colourful cut-outs of rubber sheets ,glue ,teddy bear and audio aid of abc song          
                                     
Outcomes of Learning:                                                                                                                  young learners will be able to; 
memorize alphabets in order ,listen to others, try to help others, try to solve  problems ,understand that others can have different feelings and needs, recognize the common feelings that most people experience _sadness, surprise, happiness.
